Bizzarrini 5300 GT Strada | 3. Rivals
The Strada outpaced the 275 GTB virtually in everything, except one thing: its exquisite bodywork.
Difficult to verify, but the GT Strada from Bizzarrini was probably the fastest car of its era. With a Miura still in its development infancy, the Ferrari 275 GTB was the only car that got close: lighter and trully sporty, its 3,3 L V12 developed more than 300 hp in its 6-carburetor version. Hovewer, evidences do exist of some owners of this Maranello beauty been literally humiliated in the freeway by this sharp arrow that was the GT Strada.
In late 66 the Strada met the Ford GT40 also on the road, which for sure produced some +280 km/h duels (at that time the Bizzarrini had a mind-blowing 420 hp SAE engine option).
